Civil Rights in Action, fighting for the right to live

Here it is 2016 and we are fighting the fight of our lives...gun control.  Wait, let me correct that weapons of mass destruction control.

You would think that common sense would prevail, rupublicans would realize that a projectile moving hundred feet per second does not know if you are black, white or green.  Since bullets do not have eyes, it would be better served if people listed on Terror Watch Lists are not allowed to buy them.

So the general public lives in fear while the political hacks rack in blood-stained NRA dollars.

Undertakers and gun makers are posting record profits, funeral homes are open 7 days a week.  It is routine to see street-side monuments to the fallen.  Weather beaten bunnies and balloons wrapped around a light pole are all that remain of a life taken too soon.

Sitting alone on Sunday afternoon I did a mental count of my friends and family that have been directly impacted by gun violence.  The results are staggering, every one has been effected.  And there is no end in sight.

Pardon me if I just feel that it should be at least as difficult to buy a gun as get a driver's license.

I am outraged by the fact that rupublican women refuse to acknowledge that no one needs a large magazine high caliber weapon in modern society.  What kind of mothers are they?  Do they see the photos I see on a daily basis?

Perhaps it is true that money blinds men to reason, but no amount of money would stop me from passing sensible gun legislation if it were in my power.  I do not know how they sleep at night.

I might be stretching here, but has anyone checked their closets for pods.  They cannot be human beings if Congress continues to allow any damn wanna be jehadist access to machine pistols.

This goes beyond party lines.  This involves the future of our children.  If we let them get away with automatic weapons, there will be tanks clogging up the rush hour traffic.
